Ecosystems: *Sub-Andian Paramo Vegetation and *Tropical Cloud Forest
Park check in before 5:00 p.m. or after 5:00 a.m.
Usual departure time from San Gerardo:  4:00 a.m. (hike starts)
Average climbing time to Crestones Base: from 8 to 11 hours. (15 Km) Bring enough water.
Beds at Crestones Base have mattresses built in.
Blankets available in Chirripó at US$1.50 / blanket / night.

What to bring?

-Rain Coat -Resting shoes
-Sleeping bag -Hat
-Hiking shoes -Flashlight
-Towel -Chap stick
-Sunblock -Personal Medicines
-Gatorade -2 Water bottles
-Daypack -Band-aids
-Camera and film (recommended ISO 200)
-Energy food for hikes (raisins, candies, dehydrated fruit, or any other kind of energy food)
-Warm cloths (for inside and outside)
- Hiking poles are recommend to prevent and control already existing knee complications

 

Recommendations:

In case of health problems or dietary limitations, please advise from the moment of reservation.

Clothes to keep yourself warm and dry in the refuge
Carry the least weight as possible.
Do not extract plants, animals, rocks, or any material as souvenirs.
No smoking in the park (Only at permitted site in the lodge)
No fires
Do not feed animals
Remain with the group and follow the guide's instructions.
