ACCESS FROM SAN JOSE:
The most convenient and flexible way to arrive is by rental car.
The shortest route from San Jose is by taking the Inter-American highway south towards San Isidro de El General. This will take you over the Cerro de la Muerte (the highest point on the Inter-American highway). Once you arrive in San Isidro, turn right towards the town of Dominical. 37 kilometers later, the paved road will dead end onto a gravel road that parallels the coastline. The entrance to our office is two kilometers to the right (north towards Quepos) on this road. (Total distance is around 180 kilometers).
For people arriving from the Northern Pacific Region of Costa Rica, we recommend following the coastal road south. We are located approximately 45 kilometers south of the Quepos/Manuel Antonio Airport. If you reach the town of Dominical, you have gone two kilometers too far. If you are coming from San Jose this is a much longer and bumpier route.
By Bus
If you are travelling by bus from San Jose, we recommend that you take the Musoc bus line
from the "Coca Cola" bus station. All cab drivers know where it is. As in any
bus station, you should take care of your personal belongings. The Musoc bus will take you
to San Isidro de El General. From San Isidro to Hacienda Baru, we recommend that you take
a cab. If possible, reservations for the Musoc bus should be made the previous day.
The other bus is the Uvita de Osa bus. This leaves from the "Coca Cola" as well. This bus is direct and will drop you off in front of the Hacienda; however, the bus is not as nice and the ride is longer and bumpier.
